Areas Of Use

It is used for bonding ceramic, tile, and similar covering materials to floors in indoor spaces, as well as for laying aerated concrete blocks.

Packaging & Storage

25 kg Kraft Bag Must be stored in its unopened original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. The appropriate storage temperature is between +5°C and +25°C. Shelf life is 12 months from the production date under proper storage conditions.

Safety Recommendations

During mixing and application, avoid contact of the material with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Protective gloves, clothing, mask, and goggles must be worn during use.

Application Method

On average, 5.50–6.00 liters of clean water should be slowly added to 25 kg of SY 500S. Preferably, mix with a low-speed mixer or trowel until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. No substance not mentioned in the application instructions should be added to the mixture. Allow the prepared mortar to rest for 3–5 minutes to mature. Before starting the application, mix for 1–2 minutes again. The mortar should be applied to the surface, and the thickness should be adjusted with a notched steel trowel. The size of the trowel’s notch should be determined according to the size of the ceramic to be laid and the smoothness of the surface. For indoor applications, in the case of ceramics larger than 1100 cm², the mortar should be applied to both the surface and the back of the ceramic (double-sided bonding). For good adhesion, pressure should be applied using a rubber mallet to remove air. The notched mortar should be applied within 15-20 minutes. If more than 15-20 minutes have passed, the bonding process should not be done on the mortar, and the mortar should be scraped off the surface. The prepared mortar should be consumed within 3 hours. The product should be used within its shelf life. Mortar that has passed its usage date or has hardened should never be used. Tiles bonded with SY 500 should not be exposed to direct water contact for at least 24 hours. They should be protected from freezing and strong sunlight for 5–7 days. Grout application should be done at least 24 hours after tile bonding on the floor. Floors can be opened to light foot traffic after 24 hours. During and after the application, the surface should be protected from air currents. The mixture should be made with water at room temperature. Application should not be done in rainy weather.
