Areas Of Use

It is used for the installation of ceramic, tiles, and similar cladding materials on walls and floors in indoor spaces, as well as for laying gas concrete blocks. It can be safely used for top-down ceramic floor installations.

Packaging & Storage

It should be stored in its unopened original packaging in a cool, dry environment, protected from freezing. The appropriate storage temperature is between +5°C and +25°C. The shelf life is 12 months from the production date under proper storage conditions.

Safety Recommendations

During application and mixing, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical assistance. Protective gloves, clothing, a mask, and goggles should be worn during use.

Application Method

On average, 5.50–6.00 liters of clean water should be gradually added to 25 kg of SY 500. It should be mixed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, preferably using a low-speed mixer or trowel. No other substances should be added to the mixture unless specified in the application instructions. The prepared mortar should be allowed to mature for 3–5 minutes. It should be re-mixed for 1–2 minutes before starting the application. The mortar should be applied to the surface, and its thickness should be adjusted with a notched steel trowel. The trowel notch size should be selected based on the size of the ceramic tiles being applied and the smoothness of the surface. For indoor applications with ceramic tiles larger than 1100 cm², mortar should be applied to both the surface and the back of the tile (double-sided bonding). For good adhesion, pressure should be applied using a rubber mallet to expel air. The notched mortar should be applied within 15 - 20 minutes. After this time, bonding should not be performed on the mortar, and the mortar surface should be scraped. The prepared mortar must be consumed within 3 hours. It should be used within the product’s shelf life. Mortar that has passed its expiration date or has formed a skin should never be used. Tiles bonded with SY 500 should not come into direct contact with water for at least 24 hours. The bonded tiles should be protected from freezing and strong sunlight for up to 5–7 days. Grout application should only be carried out at least 24 hours after applying ceramic tiles on the floor. The floors can be lightly walked on after 24 hours. The surface should be protected from air currents during and after the application. The mixture should be made with water at room temperature. Application should not be done in rainy weather.
