GY Super 450

It is a cement-based, polymer-modified, open time extended, enhanced with additional features, high-strength, slip-resistant, S2 class flexible ceramic adhesive mortar. It is a cement-based, single-component, polymer-modified, flexible, high-performance and stable, slip-reduced (C2TE S2) powder adhesive mortar.

General Characteristics
Due to its S2-class flexibility, it offers resistance to surface tensions caused by sudden temperature changes, high adhesion strength, and long working time, providing savings in time and labor.

Areas Of Use

It can be used for the application of covering materials such as ceramic, natural stone, travertine, decorative brick, granite, porcelain tile, clinker, and cotto on horizontal and vertical surfaces like plaster and screed in both interior and exterior spaces.

Packaging & Storage

and cotto on horizontal and vertical surfaces like plaster and screed in both interior and exterior spaces. It should be stored in its unopened original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. The appropriate storage temperature should be between +5°C and +25°C. The shelf life is 12 months from the production date under proper storage conditions.

Safety Recommendations

During application and mixing, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. In case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, immediately rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention. Gloves, protective clothing, mask, and safety glasses should be worn during use.

Application Method

The 25 kg of GY SUPER 450 should be gradually added to 5.50–6.00 liters of clean water. It should be mixed with a low-speed mixer or trowel until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. No other substances should be added to the mixture unless specified in the application instructions. The prepared mortar should be allowed to rest for 3–5 minutes to mature. Before starting application, the mixture should be re-mixed for 1–2 minutes. The mortar should be applied to the surface, and the thickness should be adjusted with a notched steel trowel. The size of the trowel’s teeth should be determined based on the size of the tiles and the smoothness of the surface to be applied. For indoor applications, for tiles larger than 600 cm², mortar should be applied to both the surface and the back of the tile (double-sided bonding). For good adhesion, air should be expelled by applying force with a rubber mallet. The notched mortar should be applied within 15-20 minutes. If this time is exceeded, no further bonding should be attempted on the surface, and the mortar should be scraped off. The prepared mortar should be used within 3 hours. It must be used within the product’s shelf life. Mortar that has exceeded its shelf life or has formed a crust should not be used. Tiles bonded with GY SUPER 450 should be kept away from direct water contact for at least 24 hours. The tiles should be protected from freezing and strong sunlight for 5–7 days. Grouting should be done at least 24 hours after ceramic bonding on the floor. Floors can be opened to light pedestrian traffic after 24 hours. During and after application, the surface should be protected from airflow. The mixture should be made with water at room temperature. Application should not be carried out in rainy weather.
