General Characteristics
It reacts with the chemicals in the concrete to form crystals, making the
concrete mass impermeable to water. It seals microcracks and capillary
voids, becoming an integral part of the concrete mass. As a result, the
waterproofing feature that forms is unaffected by surface damage,
impact, and mechanical wear. In addition to providing waterproofing, it
strengthens the mechanical properties of the concrete and increases its
resistance to chemicals. It does not contain chloride, has no corrosive
effects, and protects reinforcing steel.
It is suitable for use in the casting of concrete for reinforced concrete elements such as foundations, single-face walls, basements, elevator shafts, underground garages and storage rooms, external waterproofing of water tanks, tunnels and galleries, and structures affected by water ingress below the water level.
It should be stored in its original packaging in environments where the ambient temperature is above +5°C and protected from direct sunlight. Materials stored at lower temperatures should be allowed to reach room temperature without the use of direct heat. Once the product has been dissolved, it should be mechanically mixed to achieve a homogeneous consistency. The shelf life of the product is 12 months from the production date, provided it is stored under proper conditions in its original, unopened packaging.
During application and mixing, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. In case of contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. If the material comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical assistance. During use, gloves, protective clothing, a mask, and safety glasses should be worn.
Dosage: It can be added to the concrete mixer at a rate of 1-3%. The recommended optimal dosage is 2% of the cement weight. Preliminary trials are recommended for different applications. Ensure that the cement-to-water ratio of the concrete to be used is less than 0.55. Mix well before use. The working time after addition is approximately 45 minutes. When using CEM II and III type Portland cement, it is beneficial to use a setting retarder. Suitability tests should be conducted before use. If stored below +8°C, crystallization may occur. After mixing and homogenizing, the material can be reused. Application: Surfaces should be clean, smooth, and solid, free from dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent, or any other substances that may prevent adhesion. If segregation (separation) occurs in the concrete, defective and loose parts should be removed, and weak sections should be discarded. Cracks or hollows on the surface or wall to be applied should be repaired with appropriate repair mortar. The application of NANO ADDMIX should be done 3-4 days later. Make sure that the slope screed or concrete is placed in the direction of water flow. The slope can be accurately checked by holding a leveling tool on the starting point and using a spirit level on it. If it is determined that there is no slope or that the slope is reversed, the application should not proceed. The concrete or screed should be adjusted by modifying the direction of water flow. If necessary, additional screed or concrete should be poured. If the surface to be insulated is dry, it should be wetted and saturated with water before proceeding with the application. The NANO ADDMIX additive, according to the cement dosage in the mixer, is mixed with approximately 7-7.5 kg of water in a suitable container using a low-speed drill to create a slurry. The prepared mixture is then added to the rotating mixer. Each mixture should contain a maximum of one bag of NANO ADDMIX and should be added to the concrete. The mixing time in the concrete mixer should be about 4-5 minutes to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
