Areas Of Use

It is used for plastering XPS, EPS, and rock wool thermal insulation boards in all types of buildings. Suitable for use on XPS (extruded polystyrene), EPS (expanded polystyrene), and rock wool surfaces on both interior and exterior facades.

Packaging & Storage

It should be stored in its unopened original packaging, in a cool and dry environment, protected from frost. The recommended storage temperature is between +5°C and +25°C. The shelf life is 12 months from the production date under proper storage conditions.

Safety Recommendations

During application and mixing, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention. Gloves, protective clothing, a mask, and safety glasses should be worn during use.

Application Method

The surface should be clean, dry, and solid. The surface to be applied should be free from residues such as dust, dirt, mold oil, slag, and paint, which may prevent adhesion. The insulation board should be solid, well-adhered to the underlying surface, clean, and dry. Gaps between the boards should be filled with the same insulation material or foam, depending on the width. Any protrusions should be cleaned and leveled to reduce XPY 400 S consumption. Approximately 5.50 – 6.00 liters of clean water should be added slowly to 25 kg of XPY 400 S. The mixture should be stirred using a preferably low-speed mixer or trowel until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. No other substances not specified in the application instructions should be added to the mixture. The prepared mortar should be left to mature for 3 – 5 minutes. Before starting the application, it should be stirred again for 1 – 2 minutes. XPY 400 S should be applied to the surface of the insulation board using a steel trowel. The reinforcing mesh should be placed on top of XPY 400 S before it dries, from top to bottom, pressed and stretched properly, without folding, and at an equal distance from the insulation board surface. To prevent cracking, the reinforcing mesh should overlap by 10 cm at the joints. At corners and around all window and door frames, the reinforcing mesh should be turned at least 20 cm. The second coat should be applied 3 – 4 hours later. After application, the surface will be ready for exterior cladding. The minimum waiting time before applying the final coat on XPY 400 S is 7 days. XPY 400 S should be applied in a maximum of two coats. The prepared mortar should be used within 3 hours.
